About Us

With social media feeling more claustrophobic than freeing these days, and with questions about who owns the material posted to these platforms, we decided it was time to open our internet experience back up and start a family website. We enjoy sharing updates with our loved ones, but it was starting to feel like we were competing with ads, influencers, and AI-generated “content” instead of having genuine human connections.

We know that we can’t train everyone to go back to the Old Ways (™), getting folks to type a website into their browser in order to get our updates that they would normally passively scroll past on Instagram or Facebook. But that passivity is something we’d like to combat, anyway. Posting to social media was as much a practice of scrapbooking as it was a way to connect, and a blog format allows us the flexibility to record our experiences and catalog our memories more thoroughly.
